Grounded Sept 30, 1905 at Buffalo NY on her maiden voyage. 200 tons of ore lightered to free her.
Broke her shaft Nov 1905 35 miles from Duluth MN on her first trip to the Head of the Lakes. Towed in and repaired at Superior WI
Noted for the script “signature” Peter White on her bows.
Home port to Wilmington DE 1932
Fleet transferred 1951 to Cleveland-Cliffs Steamship Co.
Sold 1959 to Browning Lines Inc., Detroit MI and renamed John C. Hay.
Sold for scrap 1961 to Marine Salvage Ltd., Port Colborne ON. Resold to Italian shipbreakers. Arrived under tow with str. William A. Paine at Vado Italy Oct 20, 1961.
