Sunk Sept 17, 1892 in collision with str. Nipigon in Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior. Downbound with cargo of iron ore from Marquette MI towing schooner Mattie C. Bell. Nipigon rescued crew and towed Vienna toward shallow water but vessel sank in 60 fathoms of water. Enrollment surrendered Sept 28, 1892.
