  1. My grandfather, Bruce A Nicholls was the captain of the Valley Camp for many years. My mother, now 97, spent all her summers on the boat with him. She has many tales to tell about the Valley Camp.

  2. My father Perry Bowins was the Chief Engineer on the SS Valley Camp at the same time as Captain Nicolls. I remember times were were on the ship that his two daughters were there along with myself, my sister Ruth and other mother Edith. Mom died two years ago at age 95. My dad, Perry, died in 1970. The Valley Camp was one of his last assignments. I have many fond memories of being aboard in the summer with dad. Would love to hear more.
