Converted to automobile carrier and bulk freighter at Detroit MI by Marine Steel & Welding
Sold 1951 to Bethlehem Steel Co., Buffalo NY and renamed Leetsdale. Converted back to bulk freighter at River Rouge MI by Great Lakes Engineering Works.

My Grandfather, Oscar “Cap” Johnson owned the Rees. It was Johnson Transportation, not Johnston Transportation. Cap was the first Master of the Henry Ford II.
My Grandfather O A Johnson owned the Rees from 1946-49 under contract to Ford Motor Company. Correct name was Johnson Transportation not Johnston.
