Caught fire Aug 26, 1875 8 miles southeast of Long Point ON, Lake Erie, burned and sank. Str. Empire State came alongside and tried to put out the fire with hoses, then tried to tow Persian ashore but the tow line burned. Enrollment surrendered Sept 30, 1875.
