I have 3 pictures a a man ( i believe a relative) standing on its deck do you have names of the crew of this ship. Last name of
Tracy or Cullen
Why did Kinsman Marine Transit wait from December 10, 1978 to 1986 before renaming their vessel to another name? Did US Steel Charter the S/S William A. McGonagle from Kinsman for that amount of time? Or Did US Steel tell Kinsman not to rename the vessel for personal reason?

I do not know the answer to your question, but I do know my dad worked on this vessel during that time and I never heard him mention anything but that he worked for Kinsman Marine. I heard nothing of U.S. Steel. I don’t know if that helps.
I would like to see more pictures of the boat. Not surprisingly, due to the name I’m fascinated.
