  1. I wonder if this is the same ship from Ellis Island records. (My grand father was listed 1922 as a alien crew member on it)

    Built by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, 1918. 2,300 gross tons; 261 (bp) feet long; 43 feet wide. Steam Triple Expansion engines, single screw. Service speed 9.5 knots. Cargo ship.

    Ship History

    “Built for U.S. Shipping Board, in 1918 and named Lake Kyttle. Cuba to New York 1919 to 1922 service. Charter to Munson Line 1919 to 1922.
    Sunk as barge in 1960. Cut down as barge for Ford Motor Co. in 1927.”
