Foundered Oct 8, 1897 off Point Aux Barques MI, Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron. Sprang leak in gale and sank. Enroute from Lorain OH to Milwaukee with cargo of steel billets. Towing schooner Sandusky, which had been cut loose and which sailed on up the lakes not knowing that her towing vessel had sunk. Crew rescued by str. Nebraska. Enrollment surrendered Dec 31, 1897.
