Grounded Nov 22, 1979 at entrance to Silver Bay MN. Entering port light to load iron ore, missed the entrance channel in heavy weather with entrance light not operating. Refloated Nov 24 and sailed to Superior WI Nov 29, where her hull was determined to have been damaged beyond repair and she was abandoned to the underwriters as a constructive total loss. Sold for scrap to Fraser Shipyard and scrapped at Superior.
