Fleet discontinued package freight service at the end of the 1981 season.  Vessel laid up at Hamilton ON and did not operate in 1982.

Sold 1982 to Lake Ontario Cement Co., Picton ON, Canada Steamship Lines, Mgr.

Converted to self-unloading cement carrier 1983 at Collingwood ON by Collingwood Shipyards Ltd.
Remeasured to 6939 GT, 4498 NT

Renamed Stephen B. Roman 1983 (home port to Picton ON)
