Sank July 14, 1970 near Crystal Shoal below Morristown NY, St. Lawrence River. Nine lives lost. Enroute from Sorel QC to Saginaw MI with a cargo of pig iron, struck an unknown underwater object and sank. The losses included the captain and his 16-year-old son and the chief engineer and his family.
