Lengthened and deepened 1959 at Montreal QC by Canadian Vickers Ltd.
Remeasured to 343.4 x 43.8 x 22.8, 3335 GT, 2614 NT

Sank July 14, 1970 near Crystal Shoal below Morristown NY, St. Lawrence River.  Nine lives lost.  Enroute from Sorel QC to Saginaw MI with a cargo of pig iron, struck an unknown underwater object  and sank.  The losses included the captain and his 16-year-old son and the chief engineer and his family.
