Is it possible to find a listing of the Captains of these freighters?
The Edison rescued my dad, grandfather and grandmother in 1958 or ’59 when my grandfather’s newly purchased boat got caught in a storm in Lake Michigan. They were bringing the boat to Chicago from Alpena, MI which had been it’s home port. Name of the boat at the time was the “Alpena Marina”. The Edison towed them to Plum Island, WI where the coast guard took up the tow. Was wondering if there is any record of this in the logs of the Edison which may be archived. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
