In service with near sister vessel Queen of the West between Buffalo NY and Cleveland OH, for the New York Central Railroad, which had not completed railroad service between these cities.
Laid up at the end of the 1857 season because of the Panic of 1857. By the time the economy recovered, the railroad lines around Lake Erie had been completed and the large vessels of her type were no longer needed.
Engine removed and shipped to New York NY for installation in the ocean str. Morning Star, under construction. The hull was scrapped later.
