Foundered Nov 9, 1913 probably off Point-aux-Barques MI in the “Big Storm” of 1913. All 24 aboard lost. Cleared Fort William ON Nov 6 with grain, down Sault Ste. Marie Nov 8 after fog delay, stopped for bunker coal at the Pickands Mather & Co. coal dock at DeTour MI and not heard from again.

Was the Carruthers ever recovered?
To my knowledge she is the only one of the 1913 Big Storm victims that has not been found.
