I am trying to track down why this ship was originally christened the Robert J buck. My great-grandfather was named Robert J buck. He was a sailor and occasionally a master operating primarily from England. He was somehow affiliated with a Coal Company probably through marriage. According to family Legend, he was washed overboard around 1917 in the North Sea while serving with the Merchant Marine while attempting to rescue another sailor. I am just trying to track down a possible connection.
