Steel self-unloading Great Lakes and ocean bulk freighter
Built in two sections. After section built at Collingwood ON by Collingwood Shipyards, Hull 222, launched Nov 9, 1981. Forward section built in drydock at Thunder Bay ON by Port Arthur Shipbuilding Co. After section towed to Port Arthur May 1982 and joined with forward section. Vessel floated June 11, 1982.
730’ LOA, 711’5” LBP, 75’10” beam, 50’ depth
1 deck, arch cargo hold construction, hatches @ 24’, oil-fired diesel engine, 11000 BHP

Entered service June 25, 1982 clearing Thunder Bay ON light for Superior WI.
Transferred at end of 1985 season to off-Lakes service and left the Great Lakes.
Renamed M. H. Baker III 1997 and Atlantic Superior 2003.
Has spent most of her career in off-Lakes service (much under the flag of other countries) with occasional service on the Great Lakes.
