Sunk Aug 20, 1920 in collision with Willis L. King, 5 miles SE of Whitefish Point, Lake Superior. Superior City downbound with iron ore from Two Harbors MN, King up light. After collision boilers exploded, killing 29 of the 33 aboard. (Captain, second mate, boatswain and wheelsman lost.) Enrollment surrendered Dec 31, 1920.
