The railroads were required under the provisions of the Panama Canal Act of 1912 to divest themselves of competing vessels.  Great Lakes Transit Corporation was organized to own and operate these vessels.

Sold March 22, 1916 to Boland & Cornelius, Buffalo NY

Sold Sept 17, 1917 to U. S. Shipping Board, Washington DC for off-Lakes service during World War I.  Cut in two at Buffalo NY by Buffalo Dry Dock Co., towed to tidewater and rejoined.
