Sunk Oct 2, 1901 in collision with barge Michigan off Vermilion Point, Lake Superior.  Downbound towing Michigan from Superior WI to Cleveland OH with cargo of iron ore.  Michigan was foundering in storm.  When the steamer attempted to rescue the crew of the barge, the barge ran into her, sinking her.  Barge foundered.  One life lost on the barge.  Crew rescued by str. Northern Wave and taken to Superior.  Enrollment surrendered April 4, 1902.
