Foundered Sept 12, 1900 in storm between Ashtabula OH and Conneaut OH, Lake Erie.  Nine of 16 aboard lost.  Downbound from Marquette MI with cargo of iron ore for Cleveland OH.  This storm was the remnant of the historic hurricane which essentially destroyed the city of Galveston TX.  Enrollment surrendered Sept 15, 1900.
