Built on the hull of str. Menominee of 1872, which was retired from the fleet and dismantled.

3 decks, coal-fired boilers, steeple compound engine, 900 IHP
Engine was originally from str. Navarino, built for the fleet in 1871, which was destroyed in the Chicago fire of Oct 1871. Her machinery was salvaged and placed in str. Menominee, which was built to replace her in the fleet. The engine was compounded when it was placed in this vessel.

Fleet renamed Goodrich Transit Co., Chicago IL (home port to Duluth MN)
Foundered Feb 4, 1915 off Chicago IL, Lake Michigan. Hull crushed by ice. Trying to take advantage of a midwinter thaw to haul a valuable cargo. No lives lost of 71 aboard. The survivors walked ashore across the ice.
