Foundered Oct 10, 1901 in heavy seas off Vermilion Point, Lake Superior. When towing steamer M. M. Drake attempted to rescue crew of the barge, the barge ran into her, sinking the steamer. One life lost on the barge. Vessels enroute from Superior WI to Cleveland OH with iron ore. Enrollment surrendered Oct 15, 1901.
