Sprang leak Sept 6, 1908 in gale off Vermilion Point, Lake Superior. Run on beach near Whitefish Point to avoid sinking but burned and broke up on shore. Crew rescued by the Whitefish Point Life Saving Station. Downbound from Lake Linden MI with cargo of copper sand for Toledo OH towing schooner D. K. Clint, which survived. No lives lost (crew saved by members of Vermilion Point Life Saving Station). Enrollment surrendered Sept 6, 1908.
