My Grandfather worked on the S.S. GM Humphrey from May 28th to September 3rd 1928. Not sure what he did exactly but he LOVED boats so no surprise there as he owned 2 sailboats until he couldn’t sail anymore. Edward Perry Schafer Jr. born and raised in Cleveland Ohio.
Good afternoon. My father, Arwood M. Gerber (Art) – born August 23, 1937.
I’m looking for any documents about him — he worked in the engine room on the George M. Humphrey from 1954-1956 or ’58.
If you can help me find any information on him for this ship or any others (I know he worked on a different one(s) prior to the Humphrey…..Thank you.
