Entered service 1890

Sunk May 31, 1895 in collision with Canadian steamer Jack in dense fog off Middle Island, Lake Huron. 3 lives lost (steward’s wife and two crewmen);  the other 17 rescued by steamer M. Sicken. Norman was up light from Ashtabula OH to Escanaba MI.  Jack, with cargo of lumber, towed to shallow to sink, soon raised.  Final document lost with vessel;  copy surrendered June 5, 1895.
