Sunk Sept 22, 1911 in collision with steamer Henry Phipps off Port Huron MI, St. Clair River. Rammed while at anchor in fog. No lives lost. Enrollment surrendered Jan 9, 1912. The ship sank almost directly over the railroad tunnel between Port Huron and Sarnia ON and was blown up with numerous small charges to avoid damage to the tunnel. Hull removed Oct 1963 because it was a hazard at low water.

Any way of finding out the crew of the Joliet just before it sank? I ask because my great grandfather might have served on this boat.
