Steel package freight and overnight passenger vessel

Built at Owen Sound ON by Polson Iron Works, Hull 23
Plates were fabricated in Scotland and a crew of shipbuilders came over to assemble the vessel.  Launched May 4, 1889
(Built to replace steamer Algoma, lost 1885)

288’ LBP, 38’1” beam, 24’6” depth
2 decks, coal-fired boilers, fore and aft compound engine, 1225 IHP (salvaged from sunken Algoma)

Enrolled Canadian 303.0 x 38.1 x 14.7, 2616 GT, 1699 NT     Can 94879     to:
Canadian Pacific Railway Co., Montreal QC (home port Toronto ON)

Entered service during the 1889 season

Home port moved 1901 to Montreal QC

Reduced 1916 to freight only service

Withdrawn from service after 1949 season and laid up at Port McNicoll ON

Sold 1950 to Steel Company of Canada, Hamilton ON for scrapping.  Towed to Hamilton June 1950 and scrapped
