Built in two sections.  Stern section:  keel laid March 7, 1967;  launched Nov 11, 1967.  Bow section:  keel laid Nov 16, 1967;  launched April 6, 1968
Last Great Lakes vessel built at this shipyard.

Deck-mounted self-unloading equipment damaged July 12, 1976 in storm on Lake Michigan.  Repaired at Port Colborne ON.

Converted back to straight deck bulk freighter 1977 at Montreal QC by Canadian Vickers Ltd.

Fleet renamed Misener Transportation Ltd. late 1978

Management transferred 1991 to Great Lakes Bulk Carriers, Winnipeg MB, a vessel operation and management joint venture of Canada Steamship Lines, Misener Shipping and Pioneer Shipping to operate their straight deck vessels, David K. Gardiner (COO of Misener), Mgr.

Great Lakes Bulk Carriers discontinued 1994 and vessel sold to ULS Corporation, Toronto ON and renamed Gordon C. Leitch  (2).  Management transferred to Seaway Bulk Carriers, St. Catharines ON, a vessel operation and management joint venture of Algoma Central Railway and ULS Corporation to operate their straight deck vessels, ULS Corporation, Mgr.

Self-unloader and straight deck management organizations of these firms merged 2000 into a single firm, Seaway Marine Transport, St. Catharines ON

Fleet sold 2011 to Algoma Central Corporation, St. Catharines ON
