Captains of lindabury ship?
I would try posting your question on the Information Search page of Boatnerd.com. They have a big enough following that maybe somebody out there can answer you.
One captain of the Lindabury was Hugh J. Regan, but I don’t know the year. He has a Wikitree profile, with an image of him aboard that ship.

I just answered the wrong questioner! As to your question, I have a list of season assignments of captains on the Lindabury for each year they were published. Let me know what years you want.
S Berry, Just ran across this today,
Can you confirm that my grandfather and father were captains on this SS.
My Grandfather Captain Hugh J Regan was one of the first and my Father Captain Joseph Murray Regan was one of the last.
My records, from the vessel assignments published at the beginning of each season, tell me your grandfather apparently brought out the Lindabury new in 1923 (sailed the Buffington in 1922) and sailed her through 1931. Retired then? no mention again in records.
I do not find your dad on the Lindabury. Differnt boat each year 1959 thru 1967.
Check out your grandfather’s Wikitree profile, complete with an image of him aboard the Lindabury:

Thanks for the Info on my Grandfather, Hugh J Regan, 1923 Richard V Lindabury, he could have retired in 1931, passed away in 1939.
I know that I was onboard her with my parents when my Grandmother and Aunt came on board from the Port Huron mail boat, she was in her 70s and had no trouble with the ladder but my aunt was very nervous.
My Father, Joseph Murray Regan, may have been 1st mate at the time, and PSS Company gave my grandmother a week long trip on the Lindabury.
Thanks again, Dan.
I sailed on the Richard V. In the fall of 1952. Left Two Harbors, Minnesota first trip. 18 years old.
Hell,of a rough season end.
Ran for Thunder Bay , Ontario to ride out a terrible Storm Thanksgiving eve.
Great memories.
Donald M. Johnson
My grandfather Herbert T McLeod was chief engineer on the Lindabury early 20 th C.
Here is home video of Duluth harbor and the Richard V. Lindabury in 1963:

This is great. I was a third generation to sail the Great Lakes . Grandfather was a captain in yearly 1900’s. my father put himself through college on the lakes as an Abel body deck hand. I was on the Lindabury for 2 months in summer of 1968 as wiper in the engine room.
The coal bunker was as slick as ice. Shoot the flue was almost hard to believe . Black smoke for a mile. Do blue prints of the Lindabury exist? Would love to see them. Lots of memories. Shooting the ashes, the bum boat cigs and snacks, fantail nights mess hall, etc.
Any news is welcome. Thank you. Peder Johnson
Hello Peder, I was an Ordinary on the Lindabury in the summer of ’68. Was given the option of being a wiper, but thought that the deck department was better service.
I was a deckhand the summer of 68 for a month, or so. Graduated hs in 68 at 17 yo. Hitch hiked to Cleveland and got a job.
