Entered service June 29, 1916 clearing Lorain OH light to Duluth MN

Permanent enrollment at Duluth MN July 27, 1916 (#2)

Established iron ore loading record Sept 7, 1921 when she loaded 12,508 long tons of iron ore in 16 ½ minutes at Two Harbors MN

Fleet reincorporated 1949 in Delaware (home port to Wilmington DE)

Fleet merged July 1951 into parent United States Steel Corporation (home port to New York NY)

Remeasured 1952 to 8017 GT, 6267 NT

Fleet renamed United States Steel Great Lakes Fleet 1967 (home port to Wilmington DE)

Laid up at end of 1975 season at Duluth MN and did not operate again

Sold for scrap 1980.  Resold to Spanish shipbreakers.  Damaged Sept 23, 1980 at pier being towed out of  Duluth MN, grounded in Welland Canal, delayed later in a labor dispute, grounded Sydney NS, then lost at sea!

Foundered Dec 16, 1980 off Santa Maria Island, Azores, Atlantic Ocean while under tow by tug Federal 6 toward Spanish scrapyard.
