I sailed engineer Paul H. Carnahan and George M. Humphry 1974 and 1975.
Did you know Ferl Lindsay?
He was my great Uncle…
I sailed on her in the spring of 1970. But ‘jumped ship’ when friends I know were fired on by. the National Guard at Kent State.

Hi. My maiden name is Denise A. Aurelius. My Dad sailed the great lakes for at least 50 years. His name was Franklin B. Aurelius. He was a wheelsman on ships for The Hanna Mining Lines out of Cleveland for most of his career. He sailed on The Humphrey, The Weir, The Fink…..just to name a few. He sailed for many years under Capt. George Reiber of Vermilion Ohio. We resided in Vermilion as well. In my youth my Dad stayed on the boat in the winter and “kept ship” at the shipyard in Lorain Ohio. I spent many weekends staying on the boat with Dad in the winter. Fond memories.
My dad Charles Tozier was the Steward on The George M. Humphrey (2).
My father, Arwood (Art) Gerber, sailed on the Humphrey in 1954 – worked in the engine room. I believe he also sailed on the Millsop prior to the Humphrey. I had an uncle that sailed on the Weir.
I’m always looking for information on them when they sailed – both have passed.
