Our family were guests of the company sometime in the 1950’s and sailed from Hamilton to the lake head and return on the Gordon C. Leitch. I was about 15 at the time and appreciated being allowed on the bridge. I was even allowed to steer the ship on Lake Superior. This trip is truly memorable for me
I sailed on the Leitch in 55. She was a great boat. Had a bow screw could turn on a dime.
I toured a 50k ton Amercan supply Ship in Victoria about 2015. Flank speed 33 knots. would take about 3 miles to bring her about 2 Gas Turbines 200,000 Horsepower Same Turbnes in a DC 10.
