      • Perry Klumph (not KRUMPH) took over the Callaway in 1975, and was one of the vessels called out of a safe harbor during the 10 November 1975 storm to look for survivors of the Fitzgerald. Perry was from Marine City, MI

  1. Wow. E E Shubitowski was my father, Edward. When he laid the Callaway up at the end of the shipping season in 81, the Callaway, Anderson, and Clarke were converted to self unloaders. Dad retired at the end of that shipping season.

  2. I’m interested in seeing the ship’s log from early 1971. Is there any possibility that it survives somewhere? If so, where, and how would I go about viewing it?
