The railroads were required under the provisions of the Panama Canal Act of 1912 to divest themselves of competing vessels.  Great Lakes Transit Corporation was organized to own and operate these vessels.

Remeasured 1924 to 4375 GT, 3475 NT

Renamed J. M. Davis 1925

Requisitioned 1942 by U. S. War Shipping Administration, Washington DC for off-Lakes service and left the Great Lakes.  Towed down Illinois and Mississippi Rivers to the Gulf of Mexico.

Renamed Canopus (Argentina 4045) 1950

Scrapped 1976 in Argentina
