why was the boat named the alton dustin? My great uncle”s name was Alton Dustin and was a big time attorney here in cleveland i beleve.
I’m excited to report that I recently obtained the original ship’s bell with her name, “Alton C. Dustin” engraved on it in bold letters. It was in the John Fraser Roos maritime collection and his daughter, Susan, gave me the bell to donate to the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven, MI. I am thrilled to be involved in this bit of maritime history!
