Home port to Wilmington DE 1932
Sold for scrap 1960 to Afram Brothers Inc. Resold to Italian shipbreakers. Arrived under tow at LaSpezia Italy Sept 11, 1961.

My dad sailed the five Great Lakes on this ship …. around the age of 17-18 , so 1948? Ish… Edward E. Nastwold. Before his draft to Marines . I would love to see more genuine pictures to match my told memeories.
I have a vintage postcard of this ship passing thru the Soo Locks, Michigan just interested in what became of it.
Scrapped in Italy in 1961.

I have a beautiful oil painting of the Rufus P. Ranney made by my great uncle George Plagens in 1967. I’m not sure if he was on this ship. Would love to post a picture of it on this site to see if anyone would want. It’s large 40.5 x 29. I’m in Cleveland, Oh.
