(Apparently Capt. Mitchell had an interest in this vessel since her home port was Fairport instead of Chicago – the base of his operations — and her Cleveland enrollment showed him as Vice President of the owning company. The vessel was managed, however, by Elphicke from Chicago during her entire career.)
Sunk July 10, 1911 in collision with str. William Henry Mack in heavy fog off Vermilion Point, Lake Superior. Upbound with coal for Superior WI, Mack downbound light. Three lost of 34 aboard. Enrollment surrendered July 11, 1911.
