Sunk April 27, 1944 in collision with str. Ashcroft 20 miles north of Conneaut OH, Lake Erie. 12 lives lost. Downbound with cargo of iron ore from Escanaba MI to Buffalo NY, Ashcroft upbound light. Sank in 65 feet of water; hull dynamited in Nov as hazard to navigation.

This ship is of interest to me as my grandmothers brother was Ray Losey who along with his wife Camille were cooks on this ship and perished when it went down in the fog on April 27 1944
