Attempted to leave the Black River Nov 14, 1901 but ran into the south approach of the Tenth St. bridge, causing considerable damage. Left Black River Nov 15.

Sunk Dec 5, 1909 in collision with str. Harry A. Berwind in Mud Lake, St. Mary’s River. Downbound with cargo of iron ore. No lives lost. Abandoned to underwriters as a constructive total loss. Enrollment closed Dec 31, 1909. Raised, repaired and returned to original owner.
Reenrolled at Cleveland OH Aug 31, 1910 (#12) and returned to service
Cargo hold rebuilt 1921 to arch construction
Remeasured to 426.2 x 50.0 x 24.2, 4345 GT, 3178 NT
Foundered May 11, 1953 15 miles south of Isle Royale Light Station, Lake Superior. Seventeen of 31 aboard lost. Downbound from Superior WI with iron ore for Cleveland OH; apparently some of her hatch covers loosened in a heavy sea, allowing water to enter her cargo hold.
