Converted back to automobile carrier 1946 at Buffalo NY by Ranahan-McCarthy Marine Terminal

Flight deck added 1950

Sold 1965 to Hudson Waterways Corporation for trade in to U. S. Maritime Commission on vessels in the reserve fleet.  Resold to Marine Salvage Ltd., Port Colborne ON.  Towed to Port Colborne July 1966 and scrapped there.

  1. Thanks. My grandmother worked for Ranahan-McCarthy in the late 1950’s at their terminal at the foot of Michigan Avenue in Buffalo. Ranahan-McCarthy moved new cars from Detroit to Buffalo. She also did work for Mr. Ranahan (or Mr. McCarthy) at his home in Derby, New York. Our Christmas present from the company were a presentation box with jars of Smucker’s jams, gourmet at the time.
